Our Mission… "Make Their Day"
Opaa! Food Management's mission statement "Make Their Day" is short, but it says a lot. It gives all of us a flag to rally around as we accept only the highest levels of quality in our guest hospitality and in our relations with our fellow employees.
"Make Their Day" recognizes that we have four sets of people in our picture. We must strive to please our student guests, our adult guests, and our fellow employees, while at the same time develop quality business partnerships with our suppliers.
Our mission also helps us view school meals as a break for the children from the educational routine. School meals can be the highlight of a child's day…if not the only good meal they receive. What a great opportunity for our staff to "Make Their Day". And it works both ways…an employee makes a child's day, which in turn makes the employee's day. Additionally, "Make Their Day" applies to our fellow employees, and recognizes the importance of teamwork and treating each other with respect.
A common mission is vital. We have lots of different people in the company located in various places, with
different challenges everyday. But remembering we all share the same mission, "Make Their Day", keeps us
united in the unique Opaa! culture. We need a common purpose to grab hold of, to remember who we are.
"Make Their Day" lets us talk about feelings and attitudes… it's about letting our guests know we care
as they receive a genuine smile when they receive their meal. That is something special in the Opaa! experience.
